The Best At-Home Workouts
We know that sometimes there’s a struggle that comes along with wanting to live a healthier lifestyle, and prioritizing exercise in your daily life. If you’re not already a fitness buff or have your healthy habits well-ingrained in your daily routine, it can be a daunting task to try to figure out what, when, and where you will find time to workout. In the past, we’ve loved when our chapters host events in partnership with local fitness studios, yogis, or host other events that are health and fitness focused. Since we can’t do that at the moment, a lot of our chapters have taken to hosting virtual events that are fitness-focused as well.
We also know that in recent months, a lot of us have been spending more time at home, and even if we had been planning on signing up for that gym membership, or checking out the class offerings at the local fitness studio, we haven’t been able to. But that doesn’t mean the options for implementing a fitness routine into your life are gone. There’s plenty of online resources or apps that you can use to find the motivation, inspiration, and know-how to get back into an exercise plan. Plus, since finding solutions for at-home fitness has been so popular, a lot of gyms and studios are offering virtual programs or classes that require little to no equipment and can easily be done at home.
If you’re looking for some resources to help you prioritize your fitness, or you want to switch up the workouts you’ve been doing, here’s a few of our favorite apps or websites, complete with workouts you can do with minimal equipment, in the comfort of your own home. These are great resources to continue to use at home or when you’re traveling in the future when things get back to “normal” as well.

These are two separate apps offered by Nike that include a variety of training programs and workouts you can access from your phone and complete anywhere. No worries, there’s always tomorrow. That’s the beauty of not being locked into a strict program. They provide the guidance and recommendations for when to complete them, but it’s up to you to do it! Access to NTC Premium is free for all users until further notice, so don’t wait!
SWEAT App
If you’ve never heard of the BBG workouts or Kayla Itsines before, the SWEAT app is another great option, for women especially, for curated workouts that you can easily do at-home with limited to no equipment necessary. Choose your trainer and begin your program with thousands of other women from around the world. The app makes it easy to follow each workout, track your progress along your program, and includes a lot of other resources about exercise, healthy eating, and healthy living for you to enjoy as well. Bonus - the SWEAT app has a program specifically designed for training post-pregnancy. This option isn’t free, but you can choose to pay monthly or annually for access to the app and the training programs for less than $1/day.
Nike Running Club
If you’re a runner or want to get into running, the Nike Running Club app is another great option! With voice-led runs for a variety of distances and experience levels, you’re sure to find the appropriate program or workouts to get you outside and enjoying some amazing runs. If you’ve got a treadmill at home, you don’t need to worry about the weather getting you down, but as we head into the summer months, exploring your neighborhood or city on your feet is a great choice to burn some fat and break a sweat.

Virtual Classes from Local Studios & Gyms
Having been closed for some time, your local studios and gyms have transitioned their typical in-person class schedules and training programs to online offerings. If there’s a fitness studio you’ve wanted to go to, get a little taste of the workouts and their staff by taking a virtual class. A lot of studios usually offer the first class as free to new customers, and a lot of them haven’t been charging nearly as much (if anything) for their online classes. Think of it as a trial period where you can get a bit of the experience for a fraction of the price.
Also, if you know of or follow any local trainers or fitness professionals on social media, keep your eyes peeled for any information about Facebook or Instagram Live classes they’re offering! It’s a great way to support local trainers, since a lot of them don’t charge for the class, but they might put a plug in to donate a small amount to them or a local organization. It feels good to get a good sweat on, especially when it’s for a good cause.
