aka: the pep talk you didnβt know you needed
Heyyyyy sisstaaaaaa, soooooooul sistaaaaaaaβ¦
Where have you even been all our life?!?! π₯ΉNo but really.
Letβs just go ahead and say the quiet part out loud:
Showing up is scary. Not just the logistical partβfinding parking, walking into a restaurant by yourself, scanning the crowd like βwho do I talk to?β
But the emotional part, too.Thereβs a little inner monologue that plays on repeat when youβre trying to decide whether to click RSVP:
What if everyone already knows each other?
What if Iβm the only first timer?
What if no one talks to me?
What if I feel out of place?
What if Iβm too much?
What if Iβm not enough?
What if I get there, and itβs just... awkward?
Breathe, beauty.
You're not the only one who's thought these thoughts. In fact? At least 50% of the women attending any GTB event are thinking those exact same things.
And hereβs the math to prove it:β¨ Roughly 40% of attendees are brand new.
β¨ About 20% have been to 1 or 2 events.
β¨ And 40% are returnersβaka the girls youβre probably worried already βknow everyone,β but spoiler: theyβre usually the first to scoop you up and say, βSit with us!βWeβve had events with 10 women and events with 75βand every single time, thereβs a sacred mix of βme too,β βIβve been there,β and βyou can totally sit with me.β
π‘ Hereβs our honest-to-goodness advice?
If youβre thinking of coming, come solo.
I know, I know. Itβs tempting to rally your girls (unless you met them through GTBβthatβs fair game π), but thereβs something really powerful about showing up on your own.
It stretches you.
It frees you from your comfort zone.
It opens your heart to people you may have never crossed paths with otherwise. When you come with friends, you often stay in the same little bubble of familiarity. But when you come solo? You get to write a brand new page in your storyβand it often starts with someone saying, βHi, Iβm so glad youβre here.β
That saidβzero shame if you need to bring someone for moral support. We love new faces, however they get here. But if youβre on the fence about coming alone, this is your sign. π
π―ββοΈ Whatβs the vibe?
Gals That Brunch was built on radical welcome.
That means everyone is encouraged to meet someone new. Whether youβre loud and bubbly, quiet and introverted, freshly heartbroken, wildly successful, or just figuring it all outβyouβre not just welcome hereβ¦
youβre wanted here. Our returners know what itβs like to be the new girl.
Theyβve stood in your shoes.
They are youβjust maybe a few brunches ahead.β¨ Hereβs whatβs true:
You are worth knowing.
Not just for what you do or who you came withβbut for who you are.And if no oneβs told you latelyβ
You showing up is a miracle in motion. We often say around here: you are the gift.
Not the planner you bring. Not the outfit you wear. Not the highlight reel youβve polished. YOU.So often we wait for perfect timing, for someone to invite us, for life to calm down. But if we always waited for that, weβd never get the healing weβve been craving.
GTB isnβt just about brunch. Itβs about belonging.
Because real life doesnβt happen in status updates or perfectly filtered squares.
Real life happens around the table. It happens when you pull up a chair, let your guard down, and say, βIβm here.β
Itβs laughter and tears and waffles and awkward name tags and βOh my gosh, me too.βItβs hugging someone goodbye who was a stranger 90 minutes earlier.
π« So if youβre on the fence, hereβs our final word:
Come.
Come exactly as you are.
Big energy or quiet presence. Post-breakup, in-between jobs, new to the city, spiritually searching, socially exhaustedβcome anyway.Because this community was built for women like you.
Women who are brave enough to risk being seen.
Women who are tired of surface-level connection and craving something real.
Women who are done waiting to be invited, and instead are choosing to show up for their own lives.Thereβs a seat for you.
We saved it.Now all thatβs left is for you to sit down. π
-
Hey lovelyβletβs talk tickets real quick π
At Gals That Brunch, weβre all about creating accessible, beautiful, joy-filled spaces for connectionβand we work hard behind the scenes to make that happen. Because weβre not a big business (weβre a small but mighty volunteer-run team πͺ), all RSVP fees are non-refundable and go directly toward bringing these events to life.
Hereβs the thing: income isnβt being generated from these eventsβweβre not in it for profit. In fact, many times we host events at a personal loss, just to keep them going for the gals who need them most.
Your RSVP fee helps cover things like:
β¨ Credit card + transaction fees (yep, every ticket processed costs us)
β¨ Pretty emails, our website, translation tools, booking systems, and more
β¨ Deposits to venues, supplies, signage, giveaways, name tagsβand allll the behind-the-scenes magic that makes our community what it isWe're asking for the minimum needed to keep things running smoothly while also honoring our promise to keep events as accessible and inclusive as possible.
ποΈ Canβt make it anymore? Hereβs what to do:
Tickets are fully transferable! π
If something comes up (life happens!), you're welcome to gift or sell your ticket to another gal. We recommend posting it in our San Diego Chapter Facebook Group where someone will almost always scoop it up.βοΈ Whoever takes your ticket will simply check in under your name at the event
βοΈ Please make sure to notify the event host once your ticket has been transferred so we can keep track
βοΈ This helps you avoid being marked as a no-show, and ensures your spot still gets filledP.S. β We donβt have the admin bandwidth to manage every ticket transfer or chase down details (remember: tiny team!). So we count on you to handle your swaps directly.
π What about refunds?
In rare cases, if you let us know at least 14 days in advance, and if your ticket funds havenβt already been spent (on deposits, supplies, minimums, etc.), we might be able to issue a partial refund (minus taxes + fees). But this is not guaranteed, especially for highly curated or pre-paid events.
If thereβs enough lead time, weβre happy to try to help resell your ticketβbut if the event ends up under-attended or undersold, we unfortunately canβt issue a refund.
π Thank you
We hope you knowβyour RSVP doesnβt just save a seat. It helps fund the mission behind this whole thing: making friendship easier, community accessible, and real-life connection more possible in a world that so desperately needs it.
Weβre so grateful for your understanding, your heart, and your presence.
See you at the table soon π₯ -
Every event is a little differentβbecause every space, every group, and every moment carries its own magic.
Some are cozy and intimate. Others? Packed to the brim with gals pulling up extra chairs and scooting over to make space for one more. We always try to make room at the tableβbecause we believe everyone deserves one.
We serve 500-1000 gals every single month. Some events are as small as 7 people deep, others are 50+, and many land somewhere in between. And no matter the size, youβll always find a beautiful mix: some gals coming for the very first time, others whoβve been with us since the early days and are now part of the OG crew.
We host a wide array of events every month designed to help you build real-life, soul-filling friendships. From casual hangs to curated moments, weβre here to help you create the reps + rhythm you need to make and keep meaningful connections. (Fun fact: studies show it takes over 200 hours to form a deep friendshipβour 10, 12, sometimes 16 events a month are designed to help you build those hours. Consistently. Gently. Joyfully.)
Hereβs what youβll typically find:
π«Ά Organic Events
Our most common and most accessible event styleβlow-fee, deposit or free. These are the βpull up a chair, come as you areβ moments.
We make the plans, book the resys, and all you have to do is just show up.
Messy bun, no makeup, solo or with a friend. These are the events where you come as you are and leave with new friends.π¨ Curated Events
Sometimes we add a little β¨extraβ¨. A rooftop brunch, a themed experience, a boutique collab, a creative workshop.
These often carry a higher ticket price to reflect the added activities, vendors, or experienceβbut we always keep accessibility at the forefront.
These are elevatedβnot exclusive.π All-In Events
Occasionally, we go all out. Think: food, drinks, gifts, surprises, maybe a photographer.
These are fewer and farther between, but when they happenβyouβll be talking about them for months. So if youβre wondering where to start, the answer is easy: wherever your heart says yes.
Thereβs no wrong answer.Because hereβs whatβs true:
Weβre not here to entertain. Weβre here to build community.Letβs face itβSan Diego doesnβt have a shortage of fun things to do.
What it does have is a shortage of spaces that go beyond the surface.
And thatβs what weβre here for.Our events are designed to:
β¨ Create connection in a no-pressure way
β¨ Make the city feel a little smaller and a lot more friendly
β¨ Help you navigate this post-college, post-transition, post-everything season where friendship feels harder than it shouldBecause no one really prepares you for how weird and wonderful adult friendships can be.
New jobs, breakups, moves, motherhood, promotions, heartbreak, healingβ
Itβs all better when youβre not doing it alone. We come together to support, encourage, and champion the women in our city.
We show up to eat pancakes, share stories, celebrate wins, cry when we need to, and grow into something bigger than our individual experiences. And lookβwe get it. Social media feels like connectionβ¦
But it doesnβt hold your hand.
It doesnβt hug you.
It doesnβt ask how your day was and actually listen. As human beings, we are literally hardwired for community.
We were made for this.GTB helps solve that.
The table is where real life happens.
Where phones go down, eyes lift up, and hearts soften.
Itβs where you see people walk in a little heavy and walk out just a bit shinier and brighterβafter finally getting to just be.So come exactly as you are.
Big energy, quiet presence, in-between season and all.Because this?
This is the table where the real stuff happens. -
We serve women navigating the realities of adulthood in all its forms.
The messy. The magical. The mundane. The magnificent. We are women from all walks of lifeβwoven together by curiosity, courage, and a deep desire for connection.
Weβre made up of every background, body type, belief system, and storyβand we wouldnβt have it any other way.
We all may love, vote, worship, and work a little differentlyβbut when we gather?
Itβs nothing short of breathtaking.
Truly, the 8th wonder of the world. Our community includes creatives and caretakers, teachers and techies, stay-at-home mamas and students, entrepreneurs and dreamers, women whoβve built empires and women just beginning to whisper βmaybe I could try.β
And the one thing we all have in common?
Weβre human.
Weβre real.
And weβre better together.Weβre not here to competeβweβre here to connect.
Weβre not here to impressβweβre here to belong.
Weβre not here to fit into a boxβweβre here to break the mold.So who shows up at brunch?
β¨ Women figuring it out. β¨ Women whoβve figured some things out. β¨ Women who thought they had it all figured out until last week. β¨ Women who are rebuilding. Reimagining. Returning to themselves.
You might be:
Navigating school, just graduated, or a young professional slaying your goals.
Quietly rebuilding after something hard, or finally stepping into something big.
In your βI quit it all and moved into a vanβ era.
Single and searching. Married and learning. Newly dating or freshly heartbroken.
A mama with macaroni in your hair⦠or a mama whose kids now have more of a social life than you.
In transition. In your groove. In need of something real.
We donβt lead with ageβwe lead with season.
This isnβt about how old you are.
Itβs about what you're navigating, what you're carrying, and what youβre longing to find.Whether you're new in town or born and raised here.
Starting over or just starting out.
Wrestling with who youβve been or blooming into who youβre becomingβThereβs room for you here.
Not just a seat. A place.Because Gals That Brunch isnβt about checking a box.
Itβs about creating spaces where women are seen, celebrated, and set free to be their whole selves. And girlβ¦ we saved you a seat. π
-
Hey galβcan we have a lilβ heart-to-heart? π
We know life happens. Schedules change. Plans shift. Emergencies pop up.
And we hold space for all of it. We truly do. But alsoβ¦We canβt operate like everyone is the exception, ya know? π
So hereβs your soft and sparkly RSVP reminderβequal parts gentle accountability and full-body hug.As much as we love a good dramatic entrance (fashionably late and fabulous, of course),
thereβs something important we need you to know:
If you wake up on a Saturday or Sunday and those sign-up jitters hitβ¦
If you're tired from the night before or feeling like your presence might not make a differenceβ¦Pause. Take a breath. And hear this, loud and clear:
You. showing. up. matters. When you donβt come, we all miss out on your magic.
This isnβt just about a name on a list or a seat at a tableβ
This community? Itβs built on the real-deal hearts of women like you.
Your laugh. Your presence. Your awkward parking story or mimosa mishapβ
Itβs all part of the joy. And itβs never the same without you.Letβs also talk about the why behind RSVPs and those little fees we attach to events:
We donβt charge to be exclusiveβwe charge to be excellent.
That fee goes back into creating something beautiful:
πΈ Signs, name tags, welcome cards, venue deposits, supplies, surprises, and alllll the little details that make this thing feel intentional and full of love.So when someone ghosts or bails last minute?
Itβs not just a missed chair. Itβs a missed opportunityβ
for another gal on the waitlist to be seen, known, included, and celebrated.
Itβs also a resource we no longer get to steward well. And girl, we want to steward this well.
Weβve bargained, emailed, prayed, and probably even begged for those reservations πβ
so when we say it matters, we mean it from the top of our coffee mugs to the tips of our croissant crumbs.More than anything thoughβ¦ this policy isnβt about rules.
Itβs about love. Itβs about honor. Itβs about respecting the sacred space weβre building hereβtogether.
Itβs how we care for one another.
Itβs how we show up for each other.
And itβs how we build a culture where no one gets left out, overlooked, or forgotten. So if something does come up (and we know it might), just let us know.
No guilt. No shame. Just communication and care.
Weβll always hold space for your humanity hereβbut we also believe in showing up for one another with honesty, grace, and kindness. This isnβt a party. Itβs a movement.
This isnβt about perfection. Itβs about presence.
This isnβt just a seat at the table. Itβs a chance to help set it.And you, dear gal, are such an important part of it all.
We love you. Weβre cheering for you.
And we canβt wait to see you at brunch. πβ Your GTB San Diego Team
-
Gals That Brunch is more than bubbly bevs and photo-worthy momentsβitβs a quiet revolution.
A movement born from a deep ache weβve all felt: the ache of loneliness, disconnection, and the question, βWhere do I belong?βYes, we brunch. Yes, we celebrate. Yes, weβre here for the charcuterie boards and cinnamon roll pancakes.
But at our core, weβre here for something far more meaningful. We gather to break chains, not just breadβchains of isolation, shame, comparison, and the myth that we have to do life alone.
Our ethos is grounded in:
πΏ Honor β We see people as sacred and treat them accordingly.
πΏ Wholeness β We show up fully, mess and all.
πΏ Freedom β We reject shame and pressure, and make room for real, messy, beautiful humanity.
πΏ Diversity β We believe the table gets more beautiful with every story added to it.
πΏ Intimacy β We crave more than small talkβwe build connection that nourishes the soul.Close your eyes and imagine a flourishing San Diego.
Local businesses thriving. Women walking in freedom. Real-life friendships replacing digital facades.
A city impactedβnot by influencers or trendsβbut by women who chose to show up with radical kindness, contagious joy, and a heart to love people well. This is who we are. This is what weβre building.
Weβre not just inviting you to sit with us.
Weβre inviting you to be part of a ripple effectβone that reaches beyond the brunch table and into homes, cities, and generations.Youβre not just a guest here.
Youβre a co-builder of something sacred. So if youβve been craving real, life-giving community and a space where you donβt have to shrink, hustle, or perform...
This is your invitation.Come as you are.
Stay for the soul revival.
And know thisβyour seat at the table has always been waiting. -
From our hearts to yours
We believe in long tables. The kind where you pull up a chair, even if itβs your first time.
Where someone looks up, sees you, and says βHey, we saved you a seat.β
Thatβs what weβre building here.Because hereβs the thing:
The strongest communitiesβthe ones that hold up under pressure, the ones that lastβare the ones where everyone belongs. Not because we all look or think or believe the sameβ¦ but because we show up with kindness, with courage, and with open hands. At Gals That Brunch, we welcome women of all ages, stories, backgrounds, and beliefs.
We are made better, braver, and more beautiful because of our diversity.
We donβt just tolerate differences. We celebrate them.Weβre a community made up of women from every walk of life.
Different cultures. Different belief systems.
Different ways of voting, thinking, loving, worshiping, and living.
And we love that about us.Because real connection isnβt built on perfect agreementβitβs built on respect, curiosity, and the courage to keep showing up for each other.
While we donβt shy away from the hard stuff, we want you to know:
We are a bi-partisan, people-first, radically welcoming space.
That means we care more about how we treat each other...
We lead with empathy. We listen without shame. We stay soft even when the world wants us to get hard.We know that some might call that naΓ―ve. Or privileged. Or βplaying it safe.β
But we call it brave.
Because in a world thatβs constantly trying to tear people apartβ
weβre committed to weaving people together. We are a community built on:
π Radical kindness β the kind that shows up with snacks, saves a seat, and speaks with softness even when itβs hard
π Unshakeable inclusivity β every body, every background, every belief system has a place here
π«Ά Shared responsibility β this isnβt a business, itβs a sisterhood. That means we all carry the culture, we all clean up the table, we all make the magic
π« Zero tolerance for hate β or anything that diminishes someoneβs worth, dignity, or humanity
We will always protect the sacredness of this space.
We will always choose kindness over coolness.
We will always lean into grace, even when itβs messy. Especially then.So if youβre wondering if youβll fit in hereβyes.
If youβre wondering if we meant you when we said βevery womanββyes.
If youβve ever longed for a place to laugh, cry, be silly, be real, or just beβyes. This is not just a seat at the table.
Itβs an invitation to help set it.Weβre so glad youβre here.
You belong. π -
While weβre out here sipping lattes and forming life-giving friendships, weβre also holding something sacred.
This isnβt just brunch. Itβs a movement. Itβs a culture. Itβs a privilege. If you're repping GTB (online or IRL), know that you're an extension of this beautiful community.
Youβre part of something biggerβand we take that seriously.Over the last almost 10 years, weβve built something that doesnβt happen by accident.
Itβs been cultivated with intentionality, tenderness, and fierce love.
And every gal who walks through the door becomes part of holding that sacred space.
Whether itβs your first time or your 200th, you are a culture carrier.Weβve spent a decade building a community marked by:
β¨ Extreme generosity
β¨ Radical love
β¨ Honor in action
β¨ Over-the-top inclusivity
β¨ And a whole lotta hope-filled, joy-soaked energySo hereβs what that means in real-life termsβhow we live it out together, every single time:
π· We honor every space weβre invited into.
These restaurants, patios, and venues donβt owe us anything.
We show up with gratitude, gentleness, and grace.
And yesβwe always leave it better than we found it.
That means cleaning up after ourselves, being courteous to staff, and never forgetting that our presence should feel like a gift.We understand that we are often a large group and that hosting us requires extra patience, coordination, and flexibility. So we lead with kindness, and we overcommunicate joy and gratitude. Thatβs the GTB way.
π« GTB is a drug-free, drama-free, diva-free space.
We know this might go without sayingβbut around here, we like to say the good things out loud.Gals That Brunch is about creating a soft landing place. A space where women can show up fully, breathe a little easier, and feel safeβbody, mind, and spirit.
To help protect that for everyone, we ask that our events remain drug-free. Not out of judgment or shameβbut out of care.
We never know what someone else is carrying, navigating, or healing from. And part of being in community is honoring that.
So we come with open hearts, clear minds, and a shared desire to be presentβto ourselves, and to one another.
This isnβt a party scene. Itβs a soul scene.
A space for slow mornings, deep laughs, meaningful connection, and maybe a little magic. β¨π Kindness is non-negotiable.
Yes, that includes how you speak to fellow attendees and how you treat restaurant staff and venue partners.
Even if someoneβs having an off day. Even if your order is wrong. Even if it would be easier to respond sharply. We are not here to match energyβwe are here to shift culture. We lead with grace. We offer patience. We stand in the gap.
We donβt have to know someoneβs story to treat them with honor.
πͺ© You represent GTB everywhere you go.
Whether youβre showing up at a gathering or posting online, you carry the name, the brand, and the energy.Itβs a privilege to be part of this communityβand it should never be abused. We are ambassadors of radical love and intentional community. We speak life, joy, and hopeβbecause the world needs more of it.
π«Ά Everyone shares the responsibility.
This isnβt a business. Itβs a love-fueled movement.
Itβs powered by volunteers, heart, and community. That means we ALL pitch in:
You welcome someone new.
You help clean up.
You model warmth and inclusion.
You hold the standardβno matter your title or how many events youβve attended.
We believe in leaving places more beautiful than we found themβpeople included.
π Inclusivity is our heartbeat.
We are a community of many shapes, sizes, stories, and seasons.
We welcome all women to the tableβand we scoot over, pull up chairs, and make room for every voice. You donβt have to be anything other than yourself to belong here.
Everyone is part of the welcome committeeβeven if itβs your first time.
π« We donβt just set the vibeβwe steward it.
We tend to the atmosphere. We honor each other.
We treat people how we hope to be treatedβeven when itβs hard. Especially then.We bring beauty with us. We shift the energy in a room. We leave spaces softer, sweeter, and more full of life.
We hold the culture like something preciousβbecause it is.
We are not perfectβbut we are intentional.
This community is rare, and itβs real, and itβs a reflection of all the hearts that show up and pour in.This is not just a seat at the table.
Itβs an invitation to help set it.
And weβre so honored youβre here.
